Grade Calculations
Your current grade average would be (your total lab points+ cumulative test points)/460 points
For the record, the grade calculations are as follows:
Grade Calculation as per the syllabus (40 % for labs and 60% for the 3 tests):
(0.4 * lab grade) + (0.4 * Test 1&2 ) + (0.2 * Test 3)
Your Final grades are calculated as follows:
(0.4 * your total lab grade/ 260) + (0.4 * your test 1 & 2 grades / 200) + (0.2 * your test 3 grade/100)
Maximum Grade
(0.4 * 260/260)+(0.4*200/200) + (0.2* 100/100) * 100 = 100 %
Have a great Thursday! :-)
Exam 3 Review and other things
1. Database Packet
2. Programming Basics Packet (to be given out in class on Monday 12/11/06)
3. Access (Lab 10)
4. INT - Word & Excel (Lab 5)
In addition, with respect to the Access labs, many of you successfully sent me this lab. If you are having difficulties in sending me the 3 .mdb files in one e-mail, send them to me in 3 separate e-mails - but please have your last name as the subject heading to each e-mail. During the 8:00 AM session I had mentioned that I wanted the hard copy to circumvent the e-mail transmission issues - however, the hard copies are no longer necessary - please just e-mail me the 3 files.
Also - the final call for any "lost" labs - Friday (12/8/06) 11:30 AM is the deadline.

Lab 8: HTML (II)
Lab Preperation:
Refer to the HTML primer
Lab:
Objective: to create a simple html document
Create a resume using HTML because you have decided to post your resume on the web. To do this you will need to write the resume in HTML. To help you write the resume, do the following steps:
- Create a simple LastnameResume.html file (e.g. MollahResume.html) using NotePad. I suggest that you begin with just the body and a header. Save it and view it with Internet Explorer. To view it you should need only double click on the resume.html file
- Add a little to the document to give your name and address. Save again and view it. If you keep Internet Explorer running, you should only need to reload the page to see the changes
- Continue adding a little at a time and checking to see that it displays as expected
- your name, address, and phone number.
- a description of your educational background, including a link to the Millersville University home page (www.millersville.edu) .
- a list of previous employment (summer work, etc), with dates.
- a list of references contact information, for example phone numbers. You can just make up some names here.
Note that you must hand code the HTML for this assignment. Rest assured that it will be very obvious if you generate the HTML from a program such as Word. Such programs generate very difficult to read HTML and I will be checking.
Deliverables:
LastnameResume.html file to assignment HTML_Resume.:1. hard copy in class on Thursday November 9
Before 11:59 PM on November 8. No lab will be accepted after this time The heading of your e-mail should be "Your Last Name LAB 8" (e.g. Mollah Lab 8) Submit to CSCI101Lab8@yahoo.com (please ensure you receive the autoreply confirmation for your submission)

First Read pages 90 - 107 (it is imperative that you read these pages before attempting the next part)
1. Then go to the following Web site:
http://wps.aw.com/wps/media/objects/893/915029/files/SecondPage.html
While on this site, click on "view", and then "source". You will find the html source for this site (compare with pages 98 and 107). Pretty Cool!
2. Alright next step: you will find that the source code opens up in Notepad. Save the notepad in 2 formats:
a) lastname.txt (this should be your last name e.g. mollah.txt)
b) lastname.html (this should be your last name e.g. mollah.html)
Close both
3. Open lastname.html. What do you see? Exciting! This page is nearly the same as in the book - except the picture does not show up. What to do?
4. Go back to the actual Web site, right click on the picture of the pipe. Then look under "properties". Copy the URL of the pipe image.
5. Open lastname.txt Then paste the URL from (4) in the appropriate place (you should know once you have read pages 90-107). Save this page. Do not close.
6. While on lastname.txt, click on "save as" again and save the page as lastname.html (this should replace the previous one)
7. Open lastname.html and voila, you should be able to see a replica of the actual Web site!
Part 2
Read pages 107 - 115
Answer the Multiple Choice Questions and the Short Answer questions at the back.
